At Via Kashmir, we understand that travel plans can change unexpectedly. Our refund policy has been designed to provide clarity and fairness to all our customers while ensuring transparency throughout the booking process. This policy applies to all bookings made through our platform including hotels, houseboats, cabs, horse rides, shikaras, and tour packages.

We encourage all customers to carefully review this policy before making a reservation to understand the terms and conditions governing cancellations and refunds.

Effective Date

This policy applies to all bookings made on or after January 1, 2025. For bookings made before this date, the policy in effect at the time of booking applies.

Eligible Services

This refund policy covers hotels, houseboats, transportation (cabs), experiential services (horse rides, shikara boats), and tour packages booked through Via Kashmir.

How to Request a Refund

Submit Cancellation Request

Log into your Via Kashmir account and navigate to “My Bookings”. Select the booking you wish to cancel and click “Request Cancellation”.

Provide Required Information

Fill out the cancellation form with your booking reference number, reason for cancellation, and any supporting documentation if applicable.

Confirmation & Review

You will receive an email confirmation within 24-48 hours acknowledging your cancellation request. Our team will review your request based on the policy terms.

Refund Processing

Upon approval, refunds will be processed within 14-21 business days to your original payment method. You will receive email notification once the refund is initiated.

Special Circumstances

Cancellation by Via Kashmir

If Via Kashmir or the service provider cancels your confirmed booking, you are entitled to:

  • 100% full refund of the booking amount
  • Alternative accommodation or service of equal or higher value at no extra cost
  • Travel credit worth 110% of your booking value, valid for 18 months

Weather-Related Cancellations

In case of extreme weather conditions or natural calamities that make travel unsafe, Via Kashmir will work with customers on a case-by-case basis to provide refunds, rescheduling options, or travel credits.

No-Show Policy

Failure to show up for your booking without prior cancellation notification will result in forfeiture of the entire booking amount with no refund eligibility.

Medical Emergencies

Medical emergencies may be considered for partial refunds with proper documentation (doctor's certificate, hospitalization records). Each case will be reviewed individually.

Non-Refundable Items

The following items are non-refundable under any circumstances:

  • Processing fees, convenience fees, and payment gateway charges
  • Promotional discounts or special offer benefits
  • Services marked as “non-refundable” at the time of booking
  • Third-party service charges or external vendor fees
